La Hacienda
About This Spot
Settled just off the hum of I-40 in Moriarty, La Hacienda offers a welcoming pause where the pace slows and familiar flavors take center stage. This is the kind of place where the rhythm feels steady and unhurried—perfect for anyone looking to settle in, share a meal, and savor more than just the food. The dining room, modest and comfortably intimate, invites quiet conversations over plates that speak plainly but deeply of New Mexican tradition.
When you arrive, you’re greeted by the warm buzz of a local spot that thrives on genuine moments rather than showy gestures. There’s a comforting hum of community in the air—servers balance attentiveness with a relaxed approach, letting the food do much of the storytelling. Chips come out first, paired with salsa and guacamole that seem made to nudge open appetites and set a tone of thoughtful care with every bite.
La Hacienda’s menu draws you in with classics that feel both accessible and lovingly crafted. The street tacos, generously packed with seasoned meat, offer an honest, satisfying bite that winds its way alongside sides of rice and beans, each spoonful echoing a recipe honed over time. Whether it’s the subtle spice in the salsa verde or the homey richness of enchiladas and chimichangas, the flavors invite a steady, attentive enjoyment rather than rush. For diners who come to relax and recharge, pairing a plate of tender steak or vibrant shrimp salad with a cold beer or a carefully mixed cocktail seems to perfectly match the easy yet genuine atmosphere.
There’s something quietly special about a place where the ingredients and the people behind the dishes come together in balance. La Hacienda feels like a local treasure — a spot where travelers and neighbors alike can appreciate a moment of honest hospitality and familiar tastes that linger comfortably beyond the last bite.

My husband and I ate here this evening after driving 12 hours and needless to say, the food was absolutely delicious. There were only 2 servers working so the food did take a little bit but that was fine since we weren't in a hurry. I had the beef street tacos which were packed with plenty of meat. It came with a side of beans which were good as well. But as we were leaving, we found out that 2 guys paid for our food. We were both speechless and happy! Anywho, I highly recommend this place.

This is our first time eating here at La Hacienda, we will definitely be coming back the food was delicious. If you have not tried this place you are missing out no lie.

As a person who travels across the country and occasionally indulges himself, I am ABSOLUTELY blown away. The flavor profile on my dish was divine. I am having a hard time processing how delicious everything was. This experience has fundamentally changed the way I review restaurants moving forward. I ate a medium steak and chimichanga with extra rice and beans, and it surpassed expectations I didn't even have. The hint of charcoal on my steak was something I didn't think I needed to taste till now. The fat was so tender that it felt like biting on water. The flavor of the beans and rice was better than 50% of any other food I've ever reviewed. Trucker friendly, plenty of space to pull a truck in to eat the best Mexican food of your life.

I'd like to show you the chimichanga I ordered, but it didn't last long enough for me to get my camera out. But here is the menu. Enjoy!

Little place just off of I-40 in Moriarty, NM. New Mexican cuisine, burgers, steaks. Dining room has about 10 tables and a small bar. We were seated quickly and the server was quick and attentive. Chips and salsa arrived. Salsa made of green chili was good(delicious with good flavor) but not very hot/spicy. Food arrived in about ten minutes and everything was as ordered. I ordered the enchilada plate with the red chili (also flavorful, but not very hot/spicy). There were 4 of us for dinner and we also had the chimichangas and the fajita bowl. All were prepared as expected and delicious. La Hacienda is a cozy spot that is clean with good food at reasonable prices and good value. The staff are courteous and efficient.

Enjoyed so much we talked about going back on our next visit--with the expectations higher, the second time was great. Had the beef enchilada with red sauce with rice & beans. Good flavor, hot, quick, just what we wanted. Chips and salsa has some spice, it is a green chili salsa, a great way to start. Thanks, we will be back on our next trip. --edit: We drove 20 hours to come back for a 3rd time, restaurant was pretty full at 7PM. Salsa still has a kick!
